The Rock of Cashel
The Rock of Cashel is famously known as being the head of St. Patrick's church in Ireland. The site is situated on a limestone hill, which creates stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The rock itself is nearly 200 feet above it's surroundings - making it visible from miles away. Today, the Rock of Cashel is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Ireland's most visited tourist attractions. It also regularly hosts cultural events and performances, including concerts and historical reenactments, adding to its appeal.
Medieval Kilkenny
Kilkenny is known as the Medevial capital of Ireland. It is a vibrant city that beautifully preserves its rich history, stunning architecture, and lively atmosphere. It is also commonly referred to as the "Marble City" due to its iconic black marble. Use this private walking tour to explore the 13th-century castle, medieval townhouses and discover Kytelers Inn - where a witch burning took place back in 1324.
Kilkenny Castle
Kilkenny castle is situated in the heart of the city and dates back to the 13th century. Homed once to the Butler family to symbolise their fortunes and founded by the Normans to display control, the castle's gardens alone fill 50 acres of mature trees, a man-made lake and wildlife. The interior has been restored to the Victorian decor. Each room of the castle showcases a different story of the Butler Families lifestyle - including the Great Hall, Drawing Room and Library.
